Your journey to express yourself will help you to quiet and calm the mind as well as awaken your senses and bring balance to your whole being through guided meditations, yoga, and dance throughout these 5 days.

Your experience will be very personal. Our approach is to seek natural, befriending rhythms in our bodies, as we go along expressing ourselves deeper. How can we bring well-being into ourselves by exploring our mind and body? You will leave the retreat feeling empowered with how you can use your own expression to continue personalizing your well-being journey!

You will nourish your body by eating healthy food prepared for you daily with fresh local ingredients.

In our current busy society connection is believed to increase our feeling of well-being. Synchronizing through dance and yoga will deepen your understanding of yourself and connect with others with joy and laughter. 

The location

An environmentally friendly, family-run VSG Resort is specifically designed for quality living outside the city. Surrounded by trees and Mediterranean plants it consists of 6 houses, with 2 apartments in each.

VSG Resort is not a hotel, here you have an opportunity to relax and enjoy in the natural environment. 

The calm location and quality accommodation make the perfect combination for revitalizing stay. The facilities offer shared swimming pool, private sauna, grill & relaxation area.

The location is far away from busy streets, restaurants, shops, and other distracting factors.

We strongly believe that being close to nature, using the best from it, sleeping well, and consuming good food, allows you to recharge yourself in a very short time.

In most cases, there is no need for big changes; simply leaving behind the distractive surrounding is enough!

Away from civilization, but still in civilized conditions - this is what each of us really deserves, at least occasionally.

Due to feedback we received about the current situation (inflation’s) we want to be accommodating, making our retreat available for more people so we have reduced the price!

Practicalities

There are some different ways to get to the island of Krk:

Direct flight to the island of Krk - airport Rijeka. This is available from, among other cities, Malmö and Stockholm with for example Ryan Air. You can also find other airlines flying this route.

Flight to Zagreb- can be direct or connecting. This is available with for instance Croatian, SAS, or Norwegian airlines.

If you take the suggested flight to Zagreb, transportation by bus to VGS resort is included in your price and takes about 2.5h.

If you wish to arrive earlier transportation is not included. Then you can take an airport bus to Rijeka bus station and from there you can take a Taxi to the resort. The cab ride will take about 40 minutes - it’s common to negotiate the Taxi fare! 👍

If you arrive earlier accommodation is not included. However, there is a lot of cheap options either in Rijeka(bed &breakfast) or contact Kate at VGS resort to book an extra night with her vsgapartment@gmail.com

There is always the option to rent a car if you want to drive around exploring the island during your time in Krk, and since it's off-season the prices will be good.

Flights

To get the most out of your retreat we suggest that you arrive at the VGS resort in the afternoon of April 27, and leave around lunch on May 2.

There will be activities on both of these days, in the evening of April 27, and in the morning of May 2.

If you arrive at the Rijeka airport on the Island of Krk, no transportation is included. You can easily take a taxi from there to the resort.

If you arrive and leave with the flight below to and from Zagreb, transportation is included in the price.

The Yoga

VINYASA YOGA

This is a dynamic form of yoga where no class is like the other, where you focus on letting the pace of the breath guide the movements, stringing the poses together so that you move from one to the other, seamlessly- creating a flow. This will challenge both strength and flexibility in a playful way as you will learn how to move gracefully, yet strong. 

YIN YOGA

While “yang” yoga focuses on your muscles, yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body as you hold the poses for 3-5 minutes.

The Salsa

The salsa music is rich in rhythms, improvisation, and energy and it is a great source to let loose and have fun!
Salsa means sauce and the music/dance is called that because it is a tasty mix with influences from many different Latin dances and rhythms.
We will carefully explain the steps and show you how they are danced to the music. We then move on and learn how to move the whole body when dancing and how to smoothly lead and follow in the dance. You also get to learn more feeling in the music and how to improvise with what you learn.

The experience

At the end of April-beginning of May, when the buds break out, the sun warms the earth and our senses meet the spring, we want to invite you, for 6 days of lots of yoga, pranayama, and meditation with highly engaged, dedicated and professional yoga teachers.

Nothing is as welcoming as spring after the dark winter! That's why we want to give you an extra boost, indulging yourself and enjoying your well within, through creative dynamic rejuvenating restorative yoga and meditation.

We also want to inspire you to explore and express yourself by opening your senses through Latin dance, guided by highly experienced and professional dance teachers.

You will connect to the present moment increasing awareness and breaking free from self-imposed limitations.

This retreat uses a personalized approach, so you can learn to take better care of yourself, gaining insights into your natural rhythms, through joy, self-care, connection, compassion, and fun.

Every day you have the stillness of nature, the sea, and a heated outdoor pool, right outside your doorstep! Nature is stunning and breathtaking!

You can also indulge yourself and book a massage with our experienced Ayurvedic-inspired massage therapists available at the resort.

Healthy tasty breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are prepared for us either at the beautiful resort or at various restaurants nearby serving exciting local cuisine.

There will also be time to explore the beautiful island of Krk and several activities like biking, swimming, diving, and hiking if you like.

Nature itself has an amazing effect to calm the mind and recharge your energy!
